Administration: This division filters public requests and inquiries including FOIA requests, assists with records management, and provides administrative and financial services support to the rest of the department.
Engineering: This division is responsible for infrastructure asset management planning and implementation, civil design and construction management, land development review, utility and right-of-way licensing and permitting, and oversees the development and implementation of the City’s 5-year Capital Improvement Plan.
Operations: This division performs operations activities like emergency storm response and snow and ice removal, as well as other maintenance, repairs, and construction related to the City’s public infrastructure assets. It also manages special events permitting and coordination. It is subdivided into six sections: Streets, Sewers/Signs, Signals & Lighting, Arbor/Landscape, Facilities, and Fleet.
Environmental and Sustainability: This division develops and implements initiatives and programs to minimize the City’s environmental impacts while promoting nature, biodiversity, continuity, and resilience. This division assists with management activities related to the post-closure landfill, the Landscape Recycling Center (LRC), U-Cycle, Municipal Electric Aggregation, and renewable energy programs and initiatives.
