Downtown Urbana comes alive next Thursday evening – and all Thursday evenings in September – as the Urbana Night Market returns to Lincoln Square for its third consecutive year, bringing together local food vendors, artists, makers, musicians and community members for an evening celebration of local creativity and entrepreneurship.
Held every Thursday in September from 6 to 9 p.m., the Night Market transforms the parking lot at Lincoln Square Mall into a lively gathering place where visitors can shop locally, enjoy food and drinks, listen to live music and connect with the people who make Urbana’s small-business community unique.
The market features a diverse lineup of food trucks and vendors, including Kona Ice, Keke’s Mobile Beverage Trailer, La Paloma, Burrito King and Kettle & Corn Lemon Shake Ups. Visitors can also browse handmade goods, baked treats, artwork, custom creations and other products from local entrepreneurs.
The event goes beyond shopping, with local and regional musicians adding to the atmosphere throughout the evening.
“The Night Market is a great way to bring the community together, we are proud that this is the third annual Night Market” said Olivia Jovine, Director of Community Development Services.
The Night Market also welcomes University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign students and offers an opportunity for students new to the area to discover the broader Urbana community.
With food, music, art and locally made products all in one place, the Urbana Night Market offers residents, students and visitors a chance to experience the entrepreneurial spirit and creative energy of downtown Urbana.
