Urbana Police Chief Larry D. Boone has been named the recipient of the prestigious Civil Rights Peggy Triplett Award from the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE), recognizing the Outstanding CEO/Director/Chief of Police of the Year.
This marks Chief Boone's second national honor from NOBLE, following the 2018 U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder Award, reflecting his commitment to principled leadership, accountability, and community engagement.
Upon receiving the award, Chief Boone said, "I am honored by this award, but any success attributed to me is truly a reflection of the outstanding rank-and-file officers and professional staff I have the privilege to serve alongside."
