Mayor DeShawn Williams Delivers the State of the City Address 2026
Mayor Williams delivered the State of the City Address last week at City of Urbana Fire House Number 3.
"I have had the privilege of meeting with residents across Urbana, in our neighborhoods and community events, in local businesses, and in many places where people come together every single day. Through city council board listening sessions and other community conversations, we have worked to make sure our residents have opportunities to share their ideas, concerns, and priorities. See, I believe that government works best when we listen first, bring people together, and make thoughtful decisions that improve the lives of residents we serve," the Mayor said.
"And one thing has become very clear through these conversations. that is that people love Urbana! Over the past year, we have seen what is possible when our city team, our residents and our businesses, our community organizers and our partners work together.
The state of Urbana is strong and that strength is built on the people who call this city home," he said.
