Public parking is available at the municipal parking garage and at various municipal parking lots throughout the City.
Paying for Parking
There are many options for paying for public parking. Daily visitors can feed meters (quarters, dimes, and nickels), download the City's MobileMeter app, or call 217-207-3033 to pay by phone for parking via MobileMeter.
Long-term parking is available in the parking deck and in some municipal lots. Contact the Finance Department at 217-384-2346 to inquire about space rental availability.
Signs are posted at the entrances to lots designating pay and permit parking.

Lot 1: North Race Street and West Water Street - Metered
Lot 2: Water Street between Race Street and Broadway Avenue - Metered
Lot 9: Water Street (east side of Civic Center) - Metered
Lot 10A: North behind the Urbana Post Office off Elm St - Metered
Lot 10A-S: Southeast Lincoln Square Mall near Vine St – Two-hour Customer Parking Only
Lot 10B: In front of the Urbana Post Office - Metered
Lot 10F: Southend Lincoln Square Mall near Illinois St - Two-hour Customer Parking Only
Lot 11: 226 West Main Street (west of Race Street) - Metered and 24/7 Permit Parking (rental) available
Lot 12: 310 West Main Street - Permit Parking Only
Lot 16: Green Street (Cunningham Township building) - Metered and Permit Parking
Lot 17: Green Street (Urbana Free Library) - Metered
Lot 22: Green Street between Vine Street and Urbana Avenue - Metered City Hall Customer & Visitor Parking
Lot 24: Illinois Street between Race Street and Vine Street - 24/7 Permit Parking (rental) available
Lot 25: Race Street between Griggs Street and University Avenue - Metered and Permit Parking
Lot 26: Coler Avenue and Springfield Avenue - 24/7 Permit Parking (rental) available
Lot 40 (Campus lot): 811 South Lincoln Avenue - Metered
Parking Garage: 111 West Main Street - Metered and Permit Parking (24/7 rental - 1st Floor ONLY)
Enforcement Hours
The City enforces parking rules as follows:
- Downtown from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
- Parking deck from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
- Downtown rental spaces from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding Lot 12, which is enforced from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday through Friday.
*Please note that there is no overnight parking at Urbana meters or in the Main Street Parking Garage unless authorized by the City of Urbana in signed lease agreement. Vehicles left overnight may be subject to ticketing or towing at the owner's expense.
